Systems Administration
Systems Administration is the fast growing field. Students in this concentration are exposed to more computer science requirements, such as programming, data-architecture, networking administration and network security. Many graduates in this concentration are hired as technical professionals.
A systems administrator, usually just called a systems administrator or a sysadmin, is a person who manages the computer systems of a corporation, institution, or department. An information systems administrator can work in nearly any industry, from the corporate world to education, health care, and non-profit. Some organizations have whole teams of sysadmins, while others have one.
As a student in this concentration, you are encouraged to claim computer science as your official minor. Compared to majoring in computer science, this concentration includes crucial hard-core technical curriculum in addition to some soft management skill classes which are not covered in the computer science curriculum.
