Scholarships & Financial Aid

You have financial options with your college planning, and we're here to help you find the best options for your situation.

Ideally, paying for your education is a long-term process of building and using a collection of savings, institutional aid, free money, and — if necessary — loans. However, there are many avenues for financing your education. Find out how financial aid and scholarships can help the financial pressure.

The following scholarships may be available to qualified undergraduate students. Check each scholarship for eligibility requirements. Additional information may be available in the School of Computing and Informatics office located in OLVR 222.

Application Process:

To apply for any of the scholarships listed below, you must submit a letter of application explaining why you believe you should receive the scholarship. Your letter should include the following information on the cover page: your name, ULID, department, concentration, and GPA. Additionally, provide a list of the scholarship eligibility criteria along with a checkmark indicating that you meet each requirement on the cover page.

Please note that applications that do not adhere to this specified format will be automatically disqualified. Scholarships are awarded based on both financial need and academic achievement.

Application Dates: Applications for the scholarships are collected yearly between September 01 and September 10.

Hub Enterprises, Inc., Endowed Scholarship for Computing & Informatics

The purpose of the Fund is to provide academic scholarships to students in accordance with the following preferences:

Eligibility:

  • Student must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Student must be classified as a Junior or Senior to receive this award
  • Student must have at least a cumulative 3.0 G.P.A. to be eligible
  • Student must be majoring in either Computer Sciences or Informatics program in the School of Computing and Informatics

John and Cathleen Lozes Endowed Scholarship for Computer Science and Informatics

The Fund purpose is to provide academic scholarships to one student per academic year who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Informatics, or a related technologic field of study, according to the following criteria:

  • Student recipient must be admitted to the University and enrolled as a full-time student
  • Student recipient must have a minimum 3.2 GPA, based on a 4.0 scale (or GPA greater than 80% of max)
  • Student recipient must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, based on a 4.0 scale (or GPA greater than 75% of max)
  • Student must have completed over 20 % of classes required for the degree
  • Preference given to students who have utilized their degree-related knowledge and skills within external settings (internships, paid jobs, and/or volunteer activities)
